Vision of the kingdom of God
A crucial issue in the operation of Healing Room is the Biblical vision of the kingdom of God where Christ is undivided (1 Corinthians 1:12-13). Healing Room is one way of working in the world wide church of God. We rejoice at proceeding and success of every Christian church and Christian institute in various fields globally (Mark 16: 15-18).
On our side, we work over the boundaries between various Christian churches and hereby promote cooperation. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and the church is the body. We follow the way how Jesus taught us to pray: ” Holy Father, so that they may be one as we are one”. Hand is not arguing with foot (1 Corinthians 12 ). To be able to accomplish one's mission in the world the church and individual Christians need to make their way in mutual love and forgiveness. Healing Room is a place for prayer and cooperation – not for theological disputes on themes which have broken the Christian connection in the past and hindered the progress of God's good will. Every prayer team member understands also one's own responsibility as a constructor and cultivator of Christian communion. This communion does not mean that you need to agree every minor theological detail but it is a much deeper issue.
In Healing Room, every action and every prayer service follows confidentiality. Everyone who is involved in the prayer team member pledges oneself to secrecy similarly to pastoral counseling. Therefore, Healing Room is a safe place to come with your reasons in front of God and people.
Importance of the local church
In the work of Healing Room, we expect that every prayer team member belongs to a local Christian church. We ask this early in the interviews, where we encourage every one to serve in one's own church. In case the person doesn't have a connection to a local Christian church, we encourage the person to find one before becoming a Healing Room prayer team member. Healing Room is not a church.
Healing Room in Finland strives to be appreciated as a good place for Christians to serve in. We want to remain safe and serious in our work. Our work is transparent and our Bible-based work is supervised by the executive committee of Healing Rooms Finland Association. The executive committee consists of pastors coming from various churches. Our work advices and makes it possible for a normal Christian to obey the word of God by praying for healing and by cooperating together with other Christians.
